The winemaker oversees the winemaking process from grape harvest through bottling, though some winemakers' duties extend further. He/she will be responsible for the methods and techniques used during the crushing of grapes, fermentation and aging of wine.
The winemaker will oversee the entire production process of creating wine, including grape harvesting, crushing, fermentation, aging, blending and bottling.
He/she will also supervise the work of viticulturists, the grape growers who work for the winery or an independently owned vineyard. The job will also require managing the harvesting and transportation processes, and, after harvest, he/she will supervise the crushing process that turns grapes into a mixture known as must. Additional duties might include general maintenance of the pumps, barrels and temperature control equipment.
The winemaker will be responsible for adjusting the product to the various target markets, in order to export. He / She will be also responsible for the business development in the external market.
O que procuramos
BA/BS in area of responsibility or five plus years of experience or training in cellar activities and supervision or emphasis in technical or production related disciplines, or equivalent combination of education and experience. English/Spanish bilingual skills highly desirable. Knowledge of import/export market is critical. Commercial experience in the export market is a preferred condition.
