The Instituto de Telecomunicações - University of Porto is searching for a candidate for a Bolsa de Investigação (1 BI-mestre ) on a contract basis of 6 months, renewable, full time, in the scope of the Project BST - Bluetooth Sensing Technology, IT/LA/01081/2011, funded by national funds through FCT/MCES (PIDDAC).The Bluetooth Sensing Technology Project leverages on the adoption by the traffic community of the Bluetooth Media Access Control technology and the vehicles MAC addresses interception to build and deploy a network of Bluetooth scanners in order to study and characterize the traffic conditions over the urban centre of the city of Porto.1. Preferred Requirements- Masters degree in Electronics or similar field.- Proficiency level of the English language.The selected candidate will work at the Computer Science Department at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto.2. Position DescriptionThe candidate will work in the task of designing and building a prototype of Bluetooth scanner.Primary Responsibilities:- Building a waterproofed prototype of Bluetooth scanner based on an ARM-9 processor that will be running a Linux distribution, a removable storage unit, a directional Bluetooth antenna, a GPS system and a power unit.3. RemunerationValue for monthly allowance: 980 Eur for BI-mestre, according to table values of the scholarships awarded directly by the FCT, in the country (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).The payment will be made by bank transfer.4.
