Overview:Competitiveness is a boutique economic development consulting firm based in Barcelona, Spain, with projects in Spain, France, England, Denmark, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Mexico. We are seeking a Brasilian person living in Barcelona for a job based in this city. The ideal candidate will speak and write both Portuguese and English fluently, and will have the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.Description of key responsibilities:Coordination of marketing events in Brasil such as conferences and cluster schoolsPreparation of tender proposals both in English and in Portuguese for projects with international donor agencies, including the European Union, Inter-American Development Bank, World Bank, USAID, etc. Management of communications with potential partners and clients.Provide general and administrative support in implementation of global marketing plan.Preparation of contents and design of marketing materials.Assorted other tasks associated with client development, including internet research, monitoring project announcement websites, preparation and organization of seminars and other events, etc.Cost control for Projects in Brazil. Revision of the book keeping of our company in Brazil and control the deviations of the current project in Sao Paulo.Support of the other administrative tasks in relation with our accountant in Brazil.Background & required characteristics:Undergraduate degree in economics, business administration, international development, or similar.Excellent spoken and written English, Portuguese and Spanish.Prior internships, extracurricular activities, or other work experience in business, marketing, international development or fundraising is a plus.Must possess a high level of self-motivation and be capable of working very independently in a delocalised company.Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Demonstrated interest in economic development issues preferred.The job is in Barcelona travelling occasionally to Brasil and other destinations.
